About me

Hello fellow crafters, builders, triers and testers!

I'm apfelstrudi. Weird name, I know! It's a mixture of my real name, Judith, and the tasty, tasty Apfelstrudel. And now that you know I'm into Apfelstrudel, you can probably guess where I'm from.

Not enough clues? Let me see... We've got countless Schnitzel and Bier over here. We don't always wear leather pants and Dirndl, but since it's Oktoberfest right now, you do see lots of those on the street.

That's right, I'm German. I'm 21 and currently studying science journalism, living with Dr. Snyder, my handy man, our two bunnies and the baby hedgehog we're taking care of during winter. I'm relatively new to crafting, of course I painted and crafted like a champion when I was still a kid, but after that, it really went downhill with my crafting skills.

Luckily, I come from a builder-family. My dad invents his own machines and does everything around the house himself and my mom is the best cook I've ever seen and she's also really into decoration, so at least I learned some things!

With moving out and into the Doctor's apartment, there were lots of things that needed to get done. And the moment we started renovation, building and crafting, I completely fell in love with it and just had to keep going. So far, we've redone our bathroom and balcony and other small things.

Since our apartment is really too small for two people and our furry companions, we're currently in the middle of moving. And while I wait for the perfect apartment to pop up, I'm preparing the small things we can take with us.

As a student, I definitely don't have money coming out of my behind, so we have to do it step by step, we have to make most things ourselves (but hey, that's the best part of it!) and upcycle rather than buy new furniture. And this blog is where I'll keep our ideas, tutorials and before-after pictures!

I already have so many ideas that we'd need a whole house to do them all, but I'll have to pick the best ones.

Enough said about me! I hope that you like my ideas and maybe find a bit of inspiration here! If you want to see more of the things I like (and one day will try), you can follow me on Pinterest or look through my blog roll/the rest of my blog.

Thanks for stopping by!
